Upgradium

Upgradium by Playtech is a crystal-themed slot on a green backdrop that skips free spins entirely and builds its action around symbol upgrades. Green, red, orange and yellow crystals lead the paytable on five reels, three rows and 25 paylines, and the wild pays up to 1,000 coins for five.

Wins completed by the wild trigger an upgrade, though upgraded symbols do not form new wins. When a Crystallization symbol lands on a hotspot, the Crystallization respin begins: all symbols move up to the next highest paying symbol on each respin, reels 2, 3 and 4 become hotspots, and another Crystallization symbol on a hotspot keeps the feature going. There is no gamble option. With medium volatility, a 95.07% RTP, stakes from 0.01 € to 10 € and a top win of 160,100× the coin value, it suits low-stake players who like an unusual mechanic.

• Green, red, orange and yellow crystals: 30 to 500 coins for three to five.
• Geometric shapes: 5 to 100 coins.
• Wild: substitutes for all symbols; five pay 1,000 coins.

• Level-up wins: a win completed by a wild upgrades symbols, but the upgrades do not create new wins.
• Crystallization respin: a Crystallization symbol on a hotspot starts respins in which every symbol upgrades to the next highest paying symbol.
• Hotspots: reels 2, 3 and 4 become hotspots during the respin, and another Crystallization symbol on one of them retriggers it.
