Inside bets are the group of roulette wagers placed on the numbers themselves. The name comes from the table layout: the number grid sits on the inside of the betting area, surrounded by the outside boxes for dozens, columns and even-money bets. Inside bets are available in land-based and online roulette alike.
The standard inside bets and their payouts on a single-zero wheel:
- Straight up, one number: 35 to 1
- Split, two adjacent numbers: 17 to 1
- Street, a row of three numbers: 11 to 1
- Corner, four numbers in a square: 8 to 1
- Six-line, two rows covering six numbers: 5 to 1
American double-zero tables add the five-number bet on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. It pays 6 to 1 and has the highest house edge on the table at 7.89%. The opposite group is outside bets, which cover large sets of numbers at lower payouts.
